Private 2 hours dark time trip outside of the village in wilderness without light pollution. Trip combines one hour of snowshoeing with warm juice and 30min+30min sleigh ride from/to village
The trip starts in the Kierinki Village Hotel, Kieringintie 797 (Sodankylä). Your guide awaits you and wear you in warm winter gear. After dressing the winter gear it is time to sit down on the sleight and your guide drives 30 min out of the village. When we have reached a large swamp area, we step down from the sleigh, take the snowshoes and walk for a while, enjoy the fresh air, white snow and the mystical atmosphere of dark nature. If the sky is clear, it is possible to see the stars and the Northern Lights too. During the snowshoeing your guide tells you how the local animals can survive over the winter. We also study the animal footprints on the snow. After the snowshoeing we have a cup of warm juice and then it is time to climb back on the sleight and drive back to the village. Please note, the frost limit is max -22 C. If the weather is colder, the trip is not available. Customers will receive full refund in case of frost limit
